Mr Kenny, Headteacher
It has been a hive of activities this week here at Park View Academy. On Monday and Wednesday we had two late nights with Parents Evenings. The attendance was a huge improvement on that of last year with 88% compared to 67%. A real positive step in the right direction with parental engagement.
On Tuesday, Mrs Ambrose held a ‘Phonics Induction Session’ for reception parents and carers. During the session, parents/carers were taught how they can support their child(ren) with their phonics learning at home. Again we had a great turn out with everyone getting a free goodie bag of learning activities to take home. The children in Key Stage 2 came back into school on Tuesday evening this week, where they had treats of popcorn and crisps while they sat back and watched a movie with their friends. After half term we will be organising one for the younger children. Further details to follow.
On Wednesday morning we had a full house who came to watch our annual Harvest Festival Assembly. The children performed and sang beautifully with a very special recital of “The Little Red Hen” by our reception children. Well done to all involved and thank you for your kind donations for the food bank.
Please note that school starts back on Monday 29th October.
Have a great week and a well deserved break!
